The ATO has reported that around one million company directors still to apply for their director ID ahead of the 30th November deadline which has resulted in a provisional deadline being extended. However, Bookkeeping professionals should still keep the pressure on director clients to apply now.

How to Request An Extension To Apply For a Director ID

Only use this form to request an extension of time to apply for a director ID if you:

• Became a director on or before 31st October 2021 and

• Had until 30th November 2022 to apply for a director ID and

• Have been unable to apply due to system unavailability or you have been unable to contact ABRS by phone.

Note: The fastest way to apply for a director ID is online. While the deadline to apply for your director ID is 30th November 2022, if you apply by 14th December 2022 the ABRS will not take further action in relation to your late application.
